Postcards from Romania: Elena Simona Craciun Photography

The amazing thing about Elena Simona Craciun photography is knowing that such a young photographer can produce such beautiful landscapes of her home country. The young artist is based in Iasi, Romania, and all the pictures featured below are sunsets and rural scapes, all of them as beautiful as any postcard, all of them taken in her native Romania. There are mountains and fir trees, wild horses, cows, herds of sheep, and power lines dotting her portfolio. She manages to remind us that the job of a skilled photographer is precisely this: to uncover hidden beauty in the most remote corners of the world, and hold it up for the eyes of the whole world to see. Elena is inspired by writers such as Virginia Woolf, Dostoievski, Anton Holban, Mihail Sebastian, and Camil Petrescu, musicians (Bjork), painters (Rubens, Frida Kahlo), and movies, including Inception, The Fountain, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Bathory, etc..
